Party Time

Party Time

Oh What A Night we had.  On Friday 23 June 2023, we had the most wonderful party in the evening, celebrating the opening of both my new house, The Arches, and RiPpLe Artworks Studio.  It was also a chance to say thank-you to all the people who helped to make my home so wonderful and welcoming.

Mum sent out invitations, in a bit of a hurry, to all the tradespeople who helped to make the Arches so amazing.  We didn’t think that many people would be able come to it… However, it was amazing how many people turned up to celebrate the evening with me.  We had the most amazing eats from a restaurant in Dumfries called Hullabaloo.

Dad asked The Secretary of State for Scotland, The Right Honourable Alister Jack MP to open The RiPpLe Artworks Studio.  Alister made the most wonderful speech, which was so kind about me.  On this one occasion, surprisingly, Dad didn’t make a speech, which as many people know is particularly unusual for my Father!

I also made a speech, thanking all the people who had helped to make The Arches and RiPpLe Artworks Studio the most amazing place that it is.  I am not going to tell you everything that was in my speech, but just to give you a clue, I thanked – the building team, painters and decorators and plumbers.  Along with the building team, I thanked all the people who helped me in hospital – doctors, nurses and carers who came to be with me overnight, so that they could remind me of what was happening if I woke up during the night.

You can see a full copy of my speech here.

I also sold quite a lot of the artwork that Diane and I have been creating over the last few years, which was also very exciting.  If you would like to come and see our artwork, then please contact us on our contact page to make an appointment.

I had the most amazing time and really enjoyed having so many people around me who have helped me in so many different ways over the years.  As much as I loved being able to celebrate the opening of my new house, The Arches and RiPpLe Artworks, I sometimes feel quite sad, as I wish that my brother, sister and their families lived closer to home and were able to come and celebrate with me.

All-in-all, despite my siblings and their families not being here, I had the most amazing time and hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.  Again, thank-you to all who made my house so wonderful and the evening was a great event.
